Is Health Coaching For Me?

My approach blends my fifteen year education and career in nursing with my training and certification as an Integrative Nutrition Coach at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City. Integrative Nutrition is founded on the concept of bio-individuality, or the unique circumstances affecting a person’s overall health and wellness at any given stage of life. Integrative Nutrition addresses eight fundamental elements - nutrition, physical activity, physical environment, professional life, relationships, finances, playtime and spirituality - to holistically bring the body into balance. Integrative Nutrition is about reaching into the depths to bring one’s unique skills, strengths and wisdom to the surface. We look at the body as a perfectly functioning organism, capable of miraculously healing itself when provided with optimal conditions. This is not a one-size-fits-all approach.

Some of the concerns I commonly address include:

“I am so tired. I need caffeine all day long just to make it through my day.”

“I know exercise is important, but I cannot see how to fit it in with all of my other daily demands.”

“Despite telling myself each morning that today I will be “good,” every night I find myself reaching for a box of cookies…before I know it, the entire package has disappeared. When I wake up the next morning full of guilt and shame with a food hangover, the whole cycle just starts all over again.”

I will encourage you to introspect, reflect and reach your comfortable edge. And, I will be right there supporting you every step of the way.

Most clients find they naturally lose weight (and keep it off) once they start eating and moving their body in ways that best suit their unique circumstances AND once they heal from emotional eating. This program is NOT for you if you aim to focus primarily on counting calories and fitness training. For that strategy, I recommend directing your search towards a Registered Dietitian and/or Fitness Expert in your area. This program is not about forcing an outcome with will power. It is about changing gently and powerfully from within for long-lasting results.
